We present here validation of LMD-ZT model in various configurations using the result of the first European Tracer EXperiment (ETEX). The LMD-ZT model has ben used at Laboratoire de Meteorologie Dynamique (LMD) in collaboration with Commissariat a I'Energie Atomique in the frame of the Comprehensive ban Treaty (CTBT).

In our case, we use the nesting way that involves the calculation over a larger domain, which contains the smaller domain. The results from the larger domain are then used to set the boundary conditions for the smaller domain. In our case, we apply the "multi-nesting" technique to the towns of St-Etienne and Grenoble by initializing our calculation to the Rhone-Alps area. This approach has the following advantages: saving calculation time on the level of total weather and chemical simulation, best taken into account of the situation on a large scale (significant for photo oxidants) and use of data like the EMEP emission data for chemical calculation on a large scale.
